Welcome to the Alaska Center for Public Policy (ACPP), Alaska’s independent, non-partisan, non-profit think tank. We do two things here at the Center: public policy analysis and research, and program evaluation. The Center is committed to the development of public policies and programs that improve the economic and social wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities. The Center focuses on sound solutions to the challenges faced by low- and moderate-income Alaskans. We celebrate the diversity of heritage and lifestyle in Alaska because every community is important.

Analysis and Research

The Center pursues its public policy mission through independent research, analysis, policy development, advocacy, public education, and technical assistance. Our goal is to expand rather than duplicate the extent to which these activities are currently being addressed in Alaska. The Center informs policymakers, the media, and the public about the importance of fair and equitable public policies, fiscal policies, and tax policies. We strive to provide interested citizens, elected officials, and community leaders with timely and accurate information so that they can become more active and effective participants in public policy debates and decisions.

Program Evaluation

Non-profit organizations often think of program evaluation as an unreasonable obstacle or burden required by a grantor. However, program evaluation can be a very powerful tool that ensures your organization’s resources are being effectively used to accomplish your mission and vision. Program evaluation can assure the community, consumers, donors, program staff and the board of directors that your organization is doing what is intended, and doing it efficiently. Program evaluation can also assure everyone invested in the organization that resources are being expended effectively, and that the intended goals are being efficiently accomplished. Regular, ongoing program evaluation assures institutional grantors and individual donors that their money is not being wasted. Contact us with any inquiries you may have about program evaluation.
